Brief Profile

Dr. Prashant Singh Rana is presently working as Associate Professor and Associate Head in the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala, Punjab. He received his PhD and MTech from IIITM Gwalior. He received "Distinguished Alumni Award in 2024" in Academics from IIITM Gwalior. His areas of research are Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Bioinformatics and Optimization. He has published more than 200+ research papers in different reputed Journals and conferences. He received nine funded projects worth Rs 4.46 Cr from different funding agencies such as DST, NVIDIA, ICMR, Meity and iHub-IIT Kanpur. He has 11 patents, in which five are granted and six are published. He guided 18 PhD students and 28 Masters students. He mentored 150+ students’ teams in different hackathons and competitions.
